An office that swallows cables, connectors, power supplies and hubs
Who has never grumbled against all these cables that hang, behind or under the desk, power supplies that must be placed on the floor or fixed under the tray, not to mention the bluetooth or ethernet switch hubs, also powered?
To clear the workspace and unclutter the floor, I designed a piece of furniture with a space at the back to receive all the connections. Three cable passages complete the system and you're done.
The bottom of the furniture is 5 cm less than the upper part, which allows to arrive discreetly from the power outlet and the main Ethernet cable.
The back of the workspace lifts and shows the jumble of cables, power supply and ethernet switch.
At the time, I was drawing my furniture in SketchUp, which explains the presence of the three axes on the plan.
I took a 1200 x 600 mm board for the bottom of the desk and two others for the top, 1200 x 400 mm and 1200 x 250 mm respectively.
Overall, the office is therefore 65 cm by 1 m 20. The thickness is 15 cm, which allows you to install three drawers 11.5 cm high.
With 60 cm pin feet, we reach the standard working height of 76 cm and the general appearance gains in lightness.
N.B. 600 and 400 mm are standard widths in DIY stores.
